General FAQ

Do you charge extra for holidays?

No we don’t! While most services do, we do not. We do suggest that you book holiday services in advance as they book up fast.

Do you have blackout dates?

There are a few weeks a year that our business is shut down but not during regular holidays. Our services book up fast so we recommend that you book them as far in advance as you can!

Is the initial consultation free?

Yes it is. Just schedule one via our online system or contact us and we will set up a Meet n’ Greet consultation for free.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. We carry liability insurance and all sitters are bonded. We are also covered for transporting animals in our car. We can provide a copy of our policy if requested.

What form of payment do you take?

We prefer credit card payment made through our online booking system, however we are also happy to accept personal cheque or cash if that is easier for you.

What if there is an emergency with my pet?

We will contact you immediately. If you can not be reached we will seek medical treatment for your pet from the veterinarian mentioned in your vet release form. If after hours we will visit the closest emergency vet if urgent attention is needed.

Do you administer medications?

Yes we do. As long as your pet is calm and able to take the medication without becoming too agitated we are happy to help. This is an important topic to discuss during the Meet & Greet and a demonstration would be necessary so we do it the same way as they are used to.

Do you provide the food?

No. We do not provide any food for pets during dog walks or pet sitting. Please make sure you have adequate food available for your pet at all times. This also includes special treats.

Will you provide daily updates?

Yes! Every service we do is documented in the electronic journal that you can access via your online portal. If you prefer to receive updates via email or text we can set that up also.

Will I require to provide a key?

Yes you will. We actually require two sets of keys. We keep all keys and fabs in our main office under lock and key until one of them is needed. It is also important for you to share alarm information with us if necessary.

Why is it required that I provide you with two keys?

The safety and security of your pet is always of utmost importance to us. If something should happen to our sitter or the key, it is important that we have a backup set to be able to send another sitter to your home.

Do you have a referral program?

We do! If you refer a customer to us, as long as they book services within 30 days we will offer you 20% off all your series for 1 month.

Can I tip for your services?

You are always welcome to reward us for a job well done, however there is no pressure whatsoever to leave tips.

Are you allowed to take pictures of our pet?

There is a section in our policy agreement which states we are allowed take pictures of your pet for social media or to post on our website. If you prefer that we do not take pictures please let us know and we will make a note.

Are you certified in pet first aid?

Yes, we have our pet first aid certificate and are trained in pet first aid and CPR.

Inclement weather?

We will always do our very best to make it to the scheduled visit(s) however if the roads and weather are unsafe we will have to schedule. We will make a visit as soon as possible and notify you as soon as we can.

Dog Walking

What hours do you provide dog walking?

We currently have four time blocks set up that you can choose from. We can’t guarantee the exact time but will definitely be there in the designated time slots:

Early Morning: 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM
Morning: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Evening: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

What is your cancellation policy for dog walking?

We ask for 24 hours notice for cancellation, however we understand that you may be sick and have to cancel the morning of your walk. As long as you let us know by 9 AM that morning you will not be charged.

What does your dog walking service include?

Our dog walking service always includes lots of love and attention, a feeding if requested, refresh of water and plenty of exercise either via an outdoor walk or indoor playtime, and of course disposal of any poop!

Is my dog walked in a pack?

Our services always include one-on-one time with your dog, however there are options to bring them to an off-leash area where they can socialize with other dogs. We will always discuss this option before letting any dog run off-leash and never before a proper relationship bond is formed.

How can I change my existing scheduled service?

The easiest way to update your requested services is via your online portal however you can also give us a call or email us to let us know via our contact page.

Pet Sitting

What is the difference between Pet Sitting & Pet Boarding?

Our Pet & Home Sitting service occurs at your home. Our sitter will live in your home and go about day to day activities just like they would in their own home. Pet Boarding occurs in the home of the pet sitter and you will drop off your pet at the home and pick them up.

What is your cancellation policy for Pet Sitting?

We require 2-weeks notice for pet sitting cancellations and will return your 50% deposit. Any cancellations made afterwards you will not be refunded. We have this policy in place as our pet sitters do not schedule any other services during this time and we have to protect their livelihood.

Does Pet Sitting include a house cleaning?

We expect the home to be clean and ready for us when we arrive and we will always leave it in the same condition if not with a bit more of a sparkle. We use our own eco-friendly cleaning products and will always make sure floors and kitchens are clean.

Do you bring your own linens?

Yes we do. We will use our own bed sheets and towels so you don’t have to worry about that. If you leave a set of clean sheets out, we will put them on the bed for you before we leave.

Will you let our cat outside if he/she is an outdoor cat?

For pet sitting in your home we will of course let your cat out as per your instructions. For Pet Boarding in the sitter’s home, we can discuss this as an option as it would depend on your pet’s comfort in another home.

Veterinarian Visits

Do you have vehicle insurance for transporting my pet?

Yes we do, our insurance covers your pet in transport.

How does the billing work for this service?

We charge $20/hour for this service and it begins from when your pet is picked up to when it is delivered back to your home. We bill in 15 minute increments.
